Apple Crisp

~ Grace Gift ~
Apple Crisp

Genesis 2:9
And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground--trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food.

As soon as the weather starts getting the slightest bit cooler, this strange urge overtakes me to bake.
Ingredients:

Base:
4 cups sliced apples
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
Topping:
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. oatmeal (old-fashioned or quick oats)
1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9×9-inch baking dish and layer bottom of dish with apple slices. Combine sugar and 2 tbsp. of flour and sprinkle over apples. Set aside.
Stir together brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, butter and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Combine well (mixture will be crumbly) and crumble topping over apples. Bake for 35-40 minutes.

Lord, thank You for apples and sugar and cinnamon; what a tasty treat.
